We have organized a tour of our (sewage) wastewater treatment plant Deer Island. It is in the Boston Harbor and looks like a carton of eggs :) Deer Island is considered one of the best treatment plants in the U.S.
The Deer Island Wasterwater Treatment Plant which treats 365 million gallons of wastewater from the greater Boston area every day. Deer Island is one of the largest electricity users in the Northeast but generates more than half of its energy demands on-site via renewable energy.
