    This grad student 101-cooking class will teach you some kitchen workarounds, showing you how to hack a recipe to do what you want (not what the author tells you). We'll cook, learn, and along the way answer important Qs such as:

    1) do I need that expensive ingredient?
    2) what does "high heat" mean, anyway?
    3) how do I know when it's done?

    Food Movie Night: The Gleaners and I

    For our Food and the Environment month, join us for a screening of Agnes Varda's 2000 documentary, The Gleaners and I, a romantic and thoughtful elegy to scavenging and repurposing everything from agricultural surplus to trash to oysters to art, and as much a loving portrait of Varda the filmmaker as it is of the gleaners she documents.
